Population Pyramids

Today we watched the Ted Ed talk again for the people that did not get to watch it yet. I learned that the "Ted" in Ted Ed stands for Technology Engineering Design. Today I learned the difference between the 3 different kinds and I could say what continent they come from. I learned today the difference between pre, industrial, and post industrial countries. I find it hard to believe that countries do not have a work industry set up for their country in 2019.

class

Today in class we started off with watching a video on population pyramids. We then went to a website that had every country and their population pyramid, you could see how their population will be in the future and you can see how their population has changed from the past. The country I found most interesting was Qatar, because from mid twenties to early thirties they had more than twice of Men to Woman. This is because Men go over to Qatar to work in the oil industry .

Population and Migration Rate Test

Today we had the test, I thought it was easier than I expected but I am happy that I studied my notes and practiced using cia.gov. One section I thought was difficult was the pull and push forces, it was easier coming up with the first two examples but it got harder as it went on. I think Mr. Schick did very well in the class before the test to prepare us for it.

Test tomorrow

The test on population and growth is tomorrow and we went over the powerpoint. I feel like I understand the topic and how to work the website. It will be worth 100 points and is going to have 30 questions on it. It includes matching, fill in the blank with a word bank, research questions using cia.gov and a section on pull and push forces that a country has. We have 20 minuets to find the answer 12 questions using cia.gov. The question will be based off the 21 we did in class.

Going over questions

Today in class we went over the question for cia.gov. I got pretty much all of them right except one I couldn't find the site for. I feel confident in my ability to navigate the website for the test. I like the website and hope we do other things with it because I think it is really interesting and expands my perception of how I see the world.

Class

Today in class we looked at cia.gov and all the different things it measures. It is a really interesting website. to look at. I do not understand how they can get that much information about every country on the the planet. It really gives you a grasp on what is going on all around the world because sometimes you think that everything is centered around the U.S.

Seat Switch

Today in class we got our seats moved around. I don't think my new seat is bad but I liked the old one better. We talked more on population, we learned that they measure in each person per 1,000. United States was in the middle for everything even though it is one of the biggest countries, I thought that was interesting.

Tuesdays Blog

On Tuesday I made up the Test I missed because I had to go to Gilman for soccer. Looking back now at my score I do not think it resembles how much I understand the topic of maps, longitude, latitude etc. I think that Chris made some good points in how some of the questions didn't make total sense. I will aim to definitely do better on the coming up assessments.

Going over Test

Today we went over the test, I didn't think it was that hard but I did not do that good on the test. There were some parts I did not understand like specifically the Absolute and Relative location portion of the test, I think it was worded confusingly. I do like the format of this test and I hope we have more like that.

missed class

wasn't in human geo class - soccer

POP QUIZ

Today we had a pop quiz, personally I believe we should be able to use our notes on it sense we didn't get to study. I am pretty sure I got a 7/10. The questions were difficult because of the way they were worded. Today was a fun class but I hope we never have a pop quiz again. My name never got called with the bell ring so I'm guessing that means I didn't get an A on it. It is a good thing it is only worth 10 points.

North and South America test

Today we had the North, Central and South America test. I think I did pretty well on it. I am very thankful of that online quiz to use a study tool. The hardest part for me was the Central American part, there is a lot crammed together in the same area. We started on the time zones today and so far I am understanding it. I think it was interesting what we talked about today, what if we were all on the same timeline. I think it was a good idea because times would just mean different things depending on where you live, everything would be easier.
