Socrates question

Socrates was put to death for going against the beliefs of the public and the officials. They believed that the general and commanders left soldiers behind while fleeting on ships. Socrates believed they should not have been put to death but he was alone in that thought. I think Socrates thought this way because he always saw the bigger picture and challenged other peoples thoughts to get them to expand their thoughts. Although if  was Socrates I would not of done what he did, t spare my life.
