The Punic Wars were 3 wars fought between Rome and Carthage, 2 powerful city-states. The first war was for control of Sicily and was a naval battle fought in the Mediterranean Sea. Rome won the war. The second war was 15 years long but Rome finally won. The third war Rome burned Carthage and the people were sold into slavery. Rome became richer after all of the wars. The slaves worked for the rich farmers and Rome gained territory in Africa. The Roman army was unstoppable at that time
Mercator VS. Peters Maps
The difference between Mercator and Peters maps. At first glance they both seem very different in the way they look. The Mercator map looks like the one you've been shown all your life, in school to learn where the continents are. The Peters looks very different from the maps we know. Neither of them are wrong, it's just the perspective. Peters map is accurate in terms to size of continents, Mercator map is accurate in the way of shape and direction of continents.
